Rally fans and Walter Röhrl fans should definitely make a note: the second ‘AUTOMOBILSPORT Tag der Legenden’ on Saturday, 13 December, will be all about Walter Röhrl. The man whom Niki Lauda once described as a ‘genius behind the wheel’. Yes, Röhrl was European Rally Champion (1974) and twice World Champion (1980 and 1982). But these titles pale in comparison to the indelible fame Walter Röhrl earned at the Monte Carlo Rally. Röhrl won this crazy roulette on ice and snow four times.

Award for the Nationales Automuseum at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este
The National Automobile Museum has won the ‘President of the Jury Award’ at the prestigious Concours d’Elegance at the Villa d’Este in Cernobbio, Italy. The prize was awarded to the Bentley Speed Six in which Commander Glen Kidston took part in the 1930 Monte Carlo Rally.The Mercedes CLK-GTR was one of the stars on the Mercedes-Benz stand at the Fuori Concorso event, which took place at the same time, and it certainly was one of the most photographed cars on site.
Anniversary exhibition “125 years of Opel automobiles”
Opel celebrated 125 years of automobile construction and the Nationales Automuseum joined in the celebrations. A temporary special exhibition on the museum’s central market square showcased 16 classics from the Rüsselsheim-based car brand, from the Lutzmann System motor car from 1899 to the best-selling Laubfrosch small car and the two millionth Opel built, a Kapitän adorned with gold and gemstones.
