Whether by car, camper or as a larger group in a coach – everyone can find a suitable parking space in the immediate vicinity of the Nationales Automuseum.

By car

How to find us

The Nationales Automuseum is conveniently located in the middle of Germany.

The journey to Ewersbach in Dietzhölztal is easy via the Autobahn 45. It is around 120 kilometers from Frankfurt Airport or Cologne city center.

You can park directly in front of the museum. The first hour is free, each additional hour costs €1.

By bus

The Nationales Automuseum offers generous parking facilities for coaches. It is therefore possible to travel together as a larger group without any problems.

With the camper

Motorhome fans are of course very welcome. For an overnight pit stop in your camper, you will find parking spaces with water and electricity near the museum.

Individual guided tours

On request, we offer individual guided tours of the Nationales Automuseum for groups of up to 20 people. On the 1.5 to 2-hour tour, our dedicated and experienced guides will tell you exciting anecdotes and provide background knowledge about our often unique vehicles.

Do you have longer waiting times for admission?

There may be waiting times at peak times.

How long does a visit to the exhibition usually take?

On average, visitors spend about 2 1/2 hours in the exhibition. However, there are also guests who stay for 4-5 hours.

If I book for a specific time slot, can I come beforehand? What happens if I am late?

Access is activated 15 minutes in advance. If you arrive a little later, that’s no problem. Just let the staff at the museum ticket desk know.

If I book a specific slot, how long can I stay?

You can stay as long as you like during museum opening hours.

Are the “New York New York” restaurant, the “Café Avus” and the museum store only open to visitors of the exhibition?

No, you can also visit the “New York New York” restaurant, the “Café Avus” and the museum store independently of the museum without an admission ticket.

Is there free parking?

The parking lot directly at the museum is free for 60 minutes, from the second hour onwards parking costs €1 per hour.

Is the museum barrier-free?

The museum is barrier-free. The special exhibition can be accessed by wheelchair users and people with physical disabilities using the elevator. We do not provide aids such as walking frames, wheelchairs or baby carriages. Please bring these with you.

Do you have a checkroom and lockers?

Yes, we have a free checkroom and lockers that can be used for a deposit of €1. If you have large bags, umbrellas or other bulky items, please do not take them into the exhibition area. The museum accepts no liability for the checkroom and lockers.

Can photographs be taken on your premises?

Yes, you are welcome to take photographs, but without flash or tripod and exclusively for private purposes. Any other use of photos must be agreed with us in advance and approved in writing. Please contact us in advance by e-mail at info@nationalesautomuseum.de and register with the cashier when you arrive.

Can I bring a dog with me?

No. Pets are not permitted in the museum or restaurant. The exception is our outdoor café AVUS.
