The new “Rallye Legends: A Time Journey on Asphalt, Gravel and Snow” special exhibition chronicles the history of rallying in a distinctive way. From 28 March 2026, pre-war vehicles from the starting field of the World Rally Championship, Group 4 icons such as the Lancia Stratos and the legendary 600 hp Group B monsters of the 1980s will be on display, as will close-to-production cars from more recent rally history. In addition, milestones from the Dakar Rally and record holders from the Pikes Peak Hill Climb also form part of the new special exhibition’s spectacular ensemble.

It tells the story of the world-class drivers who once competed in the two dozen or so vehicles now displayed on the rally circuit: They include Walter Röhrl, Carlos Sainz, Rauno Aaltonen, Hannu Mikkola, Markku Alén, Michèle Mouton, Henri Toivonen, Ari Vatanen, Juha Kankkunen, Didier Auriol, Sébastien Loeb, and Stéphane Peterhansel.

Museum founder Professor Friedhelm Loh says, “Rallying is the most comprehensive discipline in the multifaceted world of motorsport and has produced a multitude of fascinating cars. We consider it essential to bring the history and stories of the Nationales Automuseum closer to its visitors.”
